JP is a woodworker, artist, engineer and San Francisco Bay Area resident. Originally a mechanical engineer by profession, JP first studied woodworking as a hobby under long time Bay Area furniture maker John Sheridan. Under his mentorship and encouragement, woodworking became an increasingly important part of JP’s life. In the wake of John Sheridan’s retirement in 2015, JP played a principal role in founding the San Francisco Community Woodshop in a group effort to preserve a space for craft in the rapidly changing city of San Francisco.
In 2018 JP graduated from the 9 month program at the Krenov School of Fine Woodworking, a world class institution founded by renowned cabinetmaker James Krenov. She continues to pursue her woodworking practice through commission based work, teaching, personally envisioned projects and engagement with her community of fellow woodworkers.
