Introvert’s Lectern

Night Table in Claro Walnut, Basswood and Brass

This wall-mounted night table is illuminated by an inset strip of lights that reflect off the basswood laminated curve to give a warm, ambient glow.  The crisp, faceted edges and outer surfaces of the tabletop are offset by the curved and sculpted frame and panel of the mount and softened by the illuminated basswood.  The tongue-in-cheek title comes from its resemblance to a speaker’s podium but, being wall mounted, it would require the speaker to face the wall.

Introvert’s Lectern appeared in the Wharton Esherick Museum’s  26th Annual Juried Woodworking Exhibition: “Leave A Light On”.
